Flooded Kitchens & Bathrooms

We do more than basements

Flooded Kitchen or Bathroom in Atlanta? Dishwasher overflow? Icemaker supply line come free and flood your new hardwood floor? Did the toilet overflow?

All of these situations are common. When your kitchen or bathroom floods it can be extremely harmful to your hardwood floors. When hardwood gets wet it expands to compensate for the additional matter in the wood. This expansion can force the wood to buckle and cup.

Flooded kitchen or bathroom cleanup begins with water extraction. In the case of hardwood floors we might actually have to resaturate your floor to insure even drying. It is the uneven drying that causes the wood to split and crack. We can begin by drying the floor itself once the water is removed.

Flooded Kitchen and Bathroom Floor Drying

After the initial water extraction the floor will need further drying. This is accomplished by forcing the water into the air and then pulling it back out or exchanging the moist air for dry air. To get the moisture into the air, we use air movers (fans) to increase the evaporation rate.

As we are pushing moisture into the air, we are simultaneously pulling it out using dehumidifiers. We can then route the dehumidifier into a drain inside the house.
